Motionworks Is Closing

Why is Motionworks closing?

In 2005 I launched Motionworks as a way of sharing my journey in motion graphics with the industry. Along with products like Making It Look Great launched in 2007 and hosted by some of the best trainers in the industry, and MovieType co-developed by myself and Brett Morris, Motionworks became recognized as a destination for quality training and products and has helped numerous artists in our industry. Skip forward to 2020 and there are plenty of other similar sites that are better resourced than Motionworks which, apart from much appreciated help over the years from my friends Matt Sich and Mark Shingleton, is operated by me alone. I no longer have the time to fully focus on Motionworks so effective March 1, 2020 I’m closing the site.

Where are the tutorials?

I’ve moved many tutorials to my YouTube channel JohnDickinsonTutorials and will continue to record new tutorials and share knowledge.

Where can I buy?

After March 1, to purchase products previously available on Motionworks including Making It Look Great 11 (MILG11) I recommend  Helloluxx and The Pixel Lab

Customer Support

After March 1, if you have a question regarding a product you purchased from Motionworks please contact [email protected].

What am I doing now?

Those of you who follow me on social media have seen my transition from motion graphics designer to 3D artist and although I still enjoy motion graphics and working in After Effects, my focus is on 3D modeling, texturing, asset creation and product visualisation.  I recently launched johndickinson.net, my new portfolio site that includes a gallery of my personal and client projects plus process imagery and explanations on my approach. Please check out the site and consider my services if you need 3D modeling, texturing, asset creation or product visualisation for one of your projects.

Thanks for your support and see you online

Best wishes,

John.

HI John, thanks a million for everything over the years,
I’ll be sure to keep up with your new website.
Has anyone asked yet for the domainname?
    Mike
