Well done to those of you who took the time to complete Experiment 1, the results were really terrific. By your comments it sounds like you really found some value in the exercise too which is great. For Experiment 2, rather than choosing an entire effect category, we’ll be using only two effects from the Generate category — Radio waves and 4-Color Gradient.

With Radio Waves it’s possible to create some really beautiful looks, so dig deep and see what you can come up with. Use only those two effects applied to a Solid Layer and don’t use the Brainstorm Tool! Take 30 minutes to explore the effects and post a JPG in the comments. I can’t wait to see your experiments!

I’m new to After Effects and it took me a while to understand what I was doing – but I got something finally!!:) This was so much fun and helps newbies like me, thank you!

Great effort Sierra, welcome to the experiments!

I forget how versatile Radio Waves is. I also forget how I lose track of time when I’m playing around.
