Phil Bates

In this insightful episode of Unplugged, Artbeats founder Phil Bates shares how Artbeats began as a still image provider during the desktop publishing revolution of the 1990’s and has grown into arguably the most recognised stock footage  provider in the world today. Phil explains how, with a combination of raw determination and expert help, he ventured into stock video production through products like Reel Fire and Reel Clouds.  Phil also gives his views on how Artbeats compares to other low-cost footage providers such as Digital Juice.

    Artbeats does indeed rock.
But Phil suggested that maybe some of the competition wasn’t using good equipment. Just wanted to point out that Digital Juice used one of the latest Phantom cameras (as Phil himself used) when shooting the 2 Compositor’s Toolkit titles.

Thx again for another outstanding and very delightful interview. Glad you lost the copter pilot earpiece. I still wonder what is the software you use for this interviews ( I know yoe may record them with Camtasia or other screen recorder out there, but I am puzzled by the video call feature (it looks smooth and everyone you interview seem to have it) Could you get me out of my ignorance and reveal that secret ;D? Thank You.
