Ross Shain

In this revealing episode of Unplugged, Ross Shain shares his journey from art college to Avid to Imagineer Systems – makers of the powerful Mocha AE and Mocha Pro software. Ross clearly explains the difference between these popular tracking and rotoscoping packages and hints of great things just around the corner. Thanks to Jeff Almasol of redefinery for the “Lightning Farmers” image.

Great interview guys! I have to be honest and say I was always a little confused as to what each of the products actually did. Now after watching that I am definitely excited about getting my hands on them, can’t wait to see what you guys come up with next!
    Cheers

Awesome interview. I have worked indirectly with Ross as a customer for a couple of years now. He really helped me get my head around the software. It’s really cool to hear his back story.

Mocha was the key tool that enabled me to convert the movie Nosferatu into an anaglyph 3D movie. There is a tutorial on Imagineers website that shows the process if you’re curious.

Nice Interview JD, seems Ross is a good guy 😉
I think its a good Idea to refresh the names and the productline, I always got confused by all these Mo-xxx names. And these special-offers they are doing at imagineersystem are really teasing me…Although I don ´t need Mocha right know as freelancer, I would regret it if I need it someday and have to pay way more. I think I have to watch again some of the BOD Tips and listen what your brother says about such bussines decissions 😉

Believe it or not I was actually meeting a deadline and I’m just now checking in on “MotionWorks” – lot of great stuff here today John – including this new episode of “UnPlugged”.
I’ve watched almost all of the tuts over at Imagineer’s website – but since I don’t do that much “high end” stuff I’ve yet to really put a lot of time into Mocha – but now I’m inspired to find some reason to “practice”.

    Rock on!
