For sure, it’s important to be reliable, focussed and be of high quality.
One thing which always stuck with me was Oscar Wilde’s quote of “Consistency is the last refuge of the unimaginative”… I tend to think of this as a warning not to fall into the rut of turning out the same old work – a default effect, a standard treatment, a paint by numbers approach. Any time I’ve caught myself approaching a project with a catch-all, off-the-peg approach to a project, I know it’s time to learn a few new tricks and methods – try to progress rather than to to settle for just going with the flow.
