Very well done John – the Heat effect adds fine realism detail which makes it much more believable. Once again you proved how far you can take it, with simple implimantation of good old fractal noise effect

Thank Eran and yes the old Fractal Noise comes in handy on so many occasions!

Thanks for the extremely cool… sorry hot tutorial John.
I would like to know, if having the BCC8 and Boris Fx would make doing these effects possible?
I have been considering Trapcode, but because I have Boris Iv’e held off.
Same goes with Gen Arts, really cool but more expense.
Anyway great tut and explained fluidly for us novices.

Hey Patrick, you could probably do most if not all of this using BCC8. Having said that, the Trapcode effects really are a standard these days and I highly recommend them. All the best, John.

    Hey John,
Thanks for the tutorial. I seem to be missing something. How did you get the sphere to be transparent so you could see the inner sphere?

Sorry Tim I skipped that bit! Just change the Opacity.
      Best wishes,
      John.
